Position Overview:

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a dedicated Property Staff Accountant to join their team in Georgia. This 100% on-site position is ideal for individuals with experience in real estate, property management, or construction accounting. The role offers a dynamic opportunity to manage a variety of financial tasks while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction Accounts Payable Oversight: Manage end-to-end AP for construction projects, including routing vendor invoices for approval, coding to appropriate jobs or cost codes, and ensuring timely payments in line with contract terms.
  • Project Billing & Draw Requests: Prepare and process time and materials billings, owner draw requests, and subcontractor pay applications; ensure all billing aligns with project milestones and contractual requirements.
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Reconciliation: Maintain accurate records by reviewing and reconciling vendor and subcontractor accounts regularly; investigate and resolve discrepancies tied to project costs or lien waivers.
  • WIP & Job Cost Accounting: Monitor and reconcile work-in-progress accounts related to land development, sitework, and vertical construction; track costs against budgets and provide variance analysis to project managers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience with construction accounting.
  • Software Knowledge: Intermediate Excel; experience with Yardi or Sage Timberline preferred but not required.
